Toulouse/Paris

Hello everyone,
I am currently on the plane on my way to Toulouse, France. Myself, Anna, Maddie, and Allie are going there for a few days, then bopping over to Paris for another few days. My backpack is stuffed to the BRIM, as usual, because these shitty airlines (Ryanair/, easy jet, etc) only allow one bag as a free carryon, so I only bring my backpack and let me tell you packing 5 days in my school backpack just isn’t cutting it these days. So everyone feel blessed that I even brought my computer. I know the fans have been missing my blog posts, and I figured this was a solid chunk of free time (aka on the plane) that I would have time to write things, so here we are.
I just wanted to let you all know that I got up to go to the bathroom, and have my wallet partially sticking out in the pocket of my jean jacket. I stood up to flush and my wallet fell into the toilet. I had to pull it out and now I am disgusted (if you were worried it was only pee). Hopefully things start looking up for this trip because if this is how it is going to go I am leaving tomorrow… pray for me.

Ok so we arrived in Toulouse late at night, and we were thrown right back into our French speaking. We got an uber to our airbnb, where we easily got into the apartment building, but then we didn’t know the apartment number. Eventually, we got into the smallest elevator ever and went to the 5th floor. It was dark, dingy, dirty, and super creepy. There was a dog next door barking super loud, and just had terrible vibes. It took us at least 5 minutes to unlock the door, and finally we got in. The apartment itself was nice, but the sink/shower were in one room, and the toilet was literally by itself in a closet down the hall. Very odd.

We woke up on Thursday and set off to explore Toulouse. It was a really cute little city! The colors of the buildings were very vibrant and fun. The girls of course wanted to go to every cathedral in sight, and I was wearing a crop top and ripped jeans so I felt very underdressed to be going into these places. Oh well! They were very beautiful anyway. Eventually we got down to what wanted to do the most, shopping, as well as eating, so we walked around and had ice cream and shopped. That evening, we saw the sunset over a river, then went out to dinner at a yummy Italian restaurant. After that, we went to a wine bar and tasted wine. It was a very interesting experience, with the wine being self serve in a vending machine type thing.
On Friday morning, we got on a train to Paris! Very exciting. The train ride was 7 hours (big yikes), but I slept for over 5 hours so it flew by for me! haha. I was in a different train car than the girls, so when we got to the train station in Paris I couldn’t find them at first, and none of them had phone service, so obviously I started freaking out :) But alas we found each other and made it to our airbnb. This was a really cute one that was not creepy like the one in Toulouse! We got ready, because obviously we all looked disgusting after that long train ride, and set off to the Eiffel Tower. It was honestly a dream to be able to sit under the Eiffel Tower, drinking rose, and having a lil photoshoot. We actually met another girl who we found out goes to the same school that we are at in Edinburgh! She guessed that we had been to Scotland because I had my highland coo backpack, haha.

So when we were done at the tower, we walked along the river seine to try to see some of the main sights of Paris. We stopped for crepes along the way, which were very yummy. We saw the Musee d’Orsay, and made it as far as the Louvre, where I had to pee SO bad. So we had to find a bathroom, which was more difficult than I was hoping. Then, we tried to walk to Notre Dame, but wound up stumbling across a riot (love that). There was a ton of SWAT type police around, so we realized that surviving the night was more important than seeing Notre Dame. So we had dinner and made it back to our airbnb, and rested up for our big next day.

On Saturday morning, the most exciting part of our trip commenced. We were going to Disneyland Paris! Of course it is like an hour away, so we wound up ubering there. It was SO much fun. Anna and I rode all the big rides, while Maddie and Allie did the smaller rides and watched parades. It was so cool to be at Disney in another country. It was not as magical as Disney World, but it was still really fun. I discovered a new love for thrilling rides, as I used to hate them but I was loving the adrenaline rush that I was getting on rides like Tower of Terror.

After a long day, we went back to Paris, where we boarded a bus back to Toulouse. It was cheap, which is why we booked it, but a 9 hour overnight bus was just not ideal at all. I figured I would hate it, but I went along with it. Obviously I was able to sleep for the whole thing, but Anna only got around 2-3 hours of sleep which was a real bummer. We got back to Toulouse around 7am, and were literally all zombies. We considered just going to the airport at that point, even though our flight wasn’t until like 3:30 pm. I convinced them that we should explore for the day, so we took a little train thing around, and got some Belgian waffles. Once we arrived back in Edinburgh, we were all happy to be home and be able to take a shower, after all that traveling and no showering. We literally felt so disgusting (rightly so), and were so tired from a long, action packed weekend. In all, the trip was so fun and I am so happy that we were able to go! #stayclassyscotland

Milan and Budapest

Who would’ve ever thought I would be flying to Italy on Thanksgiving day! Definitely not me!!   Jamie, Susan, Anna and I headed off from Edinburgh to fly to Milan for the next few days. Spirits were high and pizza was on the mind. On our way to the airport I looked at my Apple Pay receipts which was disturbing because I spent a little too much money out at the club the night before.. hehe oops. So I spent the first part of our flight calculating how much money everyone owed me for the drinks I bought them and wound up feeling a lot better.   We got to our airbnb in Milan pretty late but we were all starving so we had to go find somewhere that was open for us to eat. We found this restaurant and all inhaled pizza. I thought it was the best pizza ever because I was starving! The next morning we woke up and headed over to the Duomo area. We went inside the cathedral which was beautiful and even climbed to the top of it. The view was very cool and we got some bomb ...

Jamie Visits Edinburgh

Just a few days after we returned from Copenhagen, Jamie came to visit me! I was so excited for her to come and stay with me for the whole week of thanksgiving! Poor thing though, her flight got delayed so she didn’t get to me until Saturday afternoon instead of Saturday morning. I went to pick her up at the airport and of course they lost her bag. She was a bit of a mess but I helped her pull it together… you know after she cried for a while <3   That night we brought her out to Finnegans Wake (aka the best bar/our favorite bar in Edinburgh). She was quite a trooper being so tired but still coming out!! She got to have quite a ~real~ experience, as we were bringing her along with us to do everything that we usually do anyway. The next day we went to the Christmas market.   On Monday she got to come to class with me (lucky) and then we went to ASDA, which is basically Scottish Walmart. We were prepping to have a full thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday night so we ...

Arthur's Seat

Hiii guys, So the other day the gals and I set off to climb Arthur's Seat at sunset (so basic, but come on we had to). The 7 of us set off to the bus and arrived at the base of the mountain. For those of you who don't know, Arthur's Seat is a hike to a dormant volcano in Edinburgh, very scenic and famous, and very beautiful. It overlooks the whole city, and it is kind of random to have this huge mountain in a city. So we had heard that if you keep climbing left, you will get on the best path up the mountain. We start, and some of us were leading the pack because we didn't want to miss the sunset. For some reason I was one of the leaders (I really don't love leading groups on activities such as this one, but oh well). We start, keeping with the left turns, and make it up to the top, which was not a very challenging hike by any means. We only had to climb at almost a 90 degree angle a few times (ok yeah that part was hard), but the rest of it wasn't bad!! We made...
