Murrayfield Stadium Tour

Hi everyone, long time no chat! Finals season is upon me here at school, so sadly I have been a bit swamped with paper writing. Something fun however that I was able to do in one of my classes was take a tour of Murrayfield stadium. This is the rugby stadium in Edinburgh, and it is where the Scottish rugby team plays. The class I am in is called sports event tourism. We went to learn about the stadium and how it makes money, which was very cool! Since my major is about event planning, we learned about the events that go on at the stadium. Some of these include business meetings, conferences, and weddings. As is the case in most stadiums, there are different size boxes that overlook the field. The box that I found most fascinating was the smallest one. It only holds around 15 people. Companies usually rent this out to schmooze basically. The tour guide said that audi rents it a lot. The company rents it, can bring anyone they want, get served food and drinks, and at the end of th...

London

Happy Friday! Let's recap our trip to London!! The day after Halloween hit us hard in Edinburgh. Halloween is celebrated in Edinburgh (woohoo!) and it was also Susan's 21st birthday. Obviously 21 has much less of a meaning here than at home, because the drinking age is 18 here... BUT it was still very exciting!! Let's just say that we had ourselves quite a night for the big 2-1 and were certainly feeling it the next day. Thankfully our flight wasn't until 7pm on the 1st so we had quite some time to recover! So Susan and I set off to London on the plane, and Jenna was meeting us there (she took the train). Jenna got there a few hours before us so I guess she was just chillin on the side of the street basically until we got there. Love that for her. We were all pretty tired so we went to Sainsbury (the grocery store) and got some ice cream, then just hung out in our hotel room. Yes I said HOTEL because we were feelin pretty boujee, and because Susan's parents got us ...

my mama came to visit!! (and bobby!)

Hi all, Hope everyone is enjoying their Tuesday! I have been thinking for a week now how to recap my mom and Bobby’s visit to see me here in Scotland. It was very fun- but also stressful at times. Let’s dive in! Once they got here, they were really tired, so while I slept in (clearly I was tired too), they went to their hotel and had a nap. Then we met up for breakfast, where I brought Anna, Maddie, and Allie. It was so exciting to see them!! Sue even cried happy tears which was so cute. We spent the day exploring the city. I am terrible at directions so thankfully Anna came and helped me too :) Sue and Bobby were so tired that they went back to their hotel and were sleeping by 8 pm. Classic. I stayed up writing a paper. Lucky me! So the next morning, they picked me up in the car that they were renting so that we could go to the highlands. It was a lot more relaxing than our drive through the highlands a few weeks ago, because if something was pretty or picturesque we coul...

Toulouse/Paris

Hello everyone,   I am currently on the plane on my way to Toulouse, France. Myself, Anna, Maddie, and Allie are going there for a few days, then bopping over to Paris for another few days. My backpack is stuffed to the BRIM, as usual, because these shitty airlines (Ryanair/, easy jet, etc) only allow one bag as a free carryon, so I only bring my backpack and let me tell you packing 5 days in my school backpack just isn’t cutting it these days. So everyone feel blessed that I even brought my computer. I know the fans have been missing my blog posts, and I figured this was a solid chunk of free time (aka on the plane) that I would have time to write things, so here we are. I just wanted to let you all know that I got up to go to the bathroom, and have my wallet partially sticking out in the pocket of my jean jacket. I stood up to flush and my wallet fell into the toilet. I had to pull it out and now I am disgusted (if you were worried it was only pee). Hopefully things start lo...

highlands

Hey guys, hope  everyone is having a lovely day! I'd like to apologize in advance for the formatting of this post- things got a little janky and I could only spend so long trying to fix it before I threw my computer across the room. Here I will be recapping our trip to the highlands. This is northern Scotland for anyone (like me) who didn’t know that. I went with the girls who are in my study abroad program, plus a few of our other friends came along with us. This was a guided tour through our program, where we drove through on a tour bus and saw lots of sights very quickly.   Friday We started in the morning around 8 am, and now that I am no longer a morning person I was exhausted yet again. So obviously I get into the bus and proceed to sleep until our first stop, which was apparently around a 2 hour drive. We made it to a castle that is apparently in some tv shows (game of thrones I think?), take a picture, then get back into the car. That was basically the theme o...
